My name is Cody Cortez. I am an Army veteran aspiring to be a flight nurse and eventually an anesthesiologist.

I am currently working my way through college to obtain a Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN), where once obtained I will apply for medical school and progress my medical career further.

While in the Army, I was a combat medic/healthcare specialist and trained other soldiers in basic first aid and lifesaving techniques. I taught at the Fort Hood Medical Simulation Training Center (MSTC) which incorporated new and under review medical procedures for combat scenarios. During my time in Korea, I worked in a hospital under the direction of a few different doctors that trained me in many clinical treatments and minor surgeries.

Currently, I work for a company that treats patients that have an acute mental health issue, which will give me experience in the future to help assess patients and their needs.
